Oral Sleep Appliances

Oral Sleep Appliances

Oral sleep appliances are custom-made and used to treat snoring and obstructive sleep apnea. The appliances function by bringing the lower jaw forward, which pulls the tongue forward and expands the airway.

CPAP therapy is the gold standard for treating obstructive sleep apnea; however, research indicates that many people are unable to comply with CPAP due to discomfort, side effects, and mask issues. The good news is that you can often use an oral sleep appliance as an alternative to CPAP therapy.
